SECTIONS 7043, and 7044. The above scheme shows the fitting of auxiliary brake shoes to the front brakes when aluminium brake drums GW.1653 DC. are used. It is impossible to accommodate the adjusting screw for the auxiliary shoe on the correct side owing to it fouling the brake drum, but for the first six chassis the screw may be on the opposite side. To enable the adjusting screw to be fitted a recess should be cut in the outer carrier plate. The shoes should be detailed in conjunction with G.CD.152 and G.CD.32.
