re SpectreCodename for Phantom III - Improved Oiling System.

We send you herewith:-

LeC.4385 showing a re-designed relief valve and oil filter.
LeC.4344 showing modifications to relief oil passages.

The object of this work is to remove the restrictions in the relief valve and oil passages, and so prevent building up of pressure when the oil is cold.

It will be noted that the oil filler has been removed from the crankcase because in the case of the conventional front end of the car it is not possible to put it in the present position. The filler will probably be mounted on the rocker cover.

The above drawings shew alterations to the crankcase pattern.

Other alterations to the pattern are contemplated as we are designing the dynamo to run at 1 1/2 times engine. This will be issued to you at the end of this week.

Means new castings (Handwritten)

LeC 4385 herewith.
