HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3895 To Wcrks from BJ. Copy to Oy. Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Chassis 18-LF. Cable from Mr.Fuller. BJ2/E29/6/27 I attach copy of letter I have written to Mr.Fuller concerning the above. You will have noticed that Mr.Fuller's point is that balloon tyres only are acceptable by Americans. Therefore, Oy's cable does not appear to overcome the difficulty as it refers to new narrow tread front tyres. Will you kindly send me a report on the subject which will make the matter more clear to Mr.Fuller, as to how we expect to be able to overcome this steering problem when our cars are fitted with balloon tyres, giving a full description of what tyres are referred to by Oy. as the new narrow tread, and whether they can be obtained in America, also whether we consider that there is a possibility of Derby supplying the same type of steering as is supplied by Springfield when a Derby chassis is ordered for use in America. I am sending this to you by this morning's bag, with the cable and letter to Fuller enclosed for you to dispatch if they are in order, but I think it will be better for you to look through them before they are dispatched in case I have not clearly understood the position.
