Re Lagging on intermediate Silencer Standardisation Sheet X.223 - Bentley.

In reply to E.3/HP.10.1.35. we do not agree with all the apparent difficulties which appear to have arisen.

Dealing with present standard production Bentley cars, the intermediate silencer can be moved inwards at the front end .250".

This will allow the lagging to clear the frame, and still give plenty of clearance for the brake mechanism, and not interfere with the removal of the starter motor. It will however require a slight modification to the undershield, a small piece will have to be cut away.

At a later date when the reduction gear type of starter motor comes on to production, there will have to be further modifications.
