| -3- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW.25.5.36. PRACTICE CAR. In the case of Le Mans it is obviously undesirable to use the same car for practice as for the actual race. Hall therefore has prepared another 4½ litre car and fitted it with exactly the same body as his racing car. To get the best use out of the practice car it is necessary to have a close ratio box, Hartford shock absorbers and a high compression cylinder head fitted. We are arranging for the Repair Dept. to make these modifications and are supplying them with the necessary material. OFFICIAL APPROVAL OF NON-STANDARD PARTS FITTED TO THE CAR. We have sent a complete list of all the non-standard parts fitted to the car to the Committee at Le Mans, and have had no objections to the modifications. Furthermore, we have had confirmation that they will not object to the aluminium drums if we find it necessary to fit these. This latter is a bit of a wangle, and for this reason we are reluctant to use them if it can possibly be avoided. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
