You will notice that I have been preaching to Springfield to go steady on any alterations to the chassis they are making for fear of doing the wrong thing. No doubt this is very likely to happen, and they must have patience, slowing up the production of parts and avoiding making the conversions to existing cars until such time as we have proved that the conversions we are making are satisfactory ones, and do really and definitely meet the complaints, otherwise they will be damaging their reputation, spending money to no purpose, and losing more confidence than if they had the right thing a few weeks late.

There are signs of their wishing to break away, with a well meaning feeling that they would be doing good. We have shewn that this would be wrong, and although we have been slow we have now got them something far better and probably less expensive than they would have used. We are expecting to send them model parts and drawings to work to of the following:-

(1) Small starting carburettor and its controls.
(2) Exhaust heated throttle and its pipes.
(3) Butterfly valve in the exhaust so as to make this No.2 arrangement more effective.
