The brakes were good, apart from troubles experienced due to an attempt to use more front braking than the size of the brakes will permit. Two brake toggles were bent, but it appears that these were of the early unstrengthened type.

The Wraith type steering and 6.50 x 17" tyres made the car easier and more pleasant to handle than standard, at both high and low speeds. The large tyres also improved the comfort of the car, both as regards road shocks and freedom from side sway.

The suspension was good, but the Gordon-Armstrong dampers fitted at the rear, cannot yet be regarded as being as generally satisfactory as standard dampers.

The front end shake was bad, but this can be regarded as a standard fault with Bentley II. which should be eliminated with the improved frame and independent suspension on Bentley III. The result was breakage of the front wing stay bolts which were of the latest strengthened type. The fitting and maintenance of these is rendered extremely difficult by reason of their inaccessibility.

It does not appear that the A.C. instruments would be as generally acceptable or satisfactory as those at present standard. Trouble was experienced with the Ph.III type electric clock fitted to this car.
