To: Rms. c: Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} FS.{F. Steele} Gmr. JPB.✓ PS/Crl.{C. R. Lisson} PS/BJW. 19/EJS. 21.1.59. New Veneer and Woodfinishing. Further to our conversations concerning your proposed new Brazilian Walnut veneer, and Polyester 2495 Lacquer woodfinish, which you have been arranging with Mr. Kremor of the Planet Veneer Co. Ltd., Messrs. Biffin and Berry of Ingham Clarke & Co., and PS/Crl.{C. R. Lisson} We have now received the liquid samples of woodfinishing materials in the laboratory for evaluation, with the exception of the Matching Stain, which I should be obliged if you would obtain from the manufacturer. We have not yet received however, for laboratory testing, the samples of new veneer, nor the samples from the bulk delivery last September, you promised to arrange. In view of the fact that a few days ago I found a car set of interior woodwork in the new veneer, in my Production Woodfinishing Department 165, about which I had not been notified, showing the very bad signs of cracking we have experienced at various times in the past, I consider the laboratory testing should be commenced on a small scale, before any more Production quantities are put through, and all concerned notified in future.
