TO Df. FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to - CS. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} LPO. [Text 'Df.', 'CS.' and 'LPO.' are struck through] ORIGINAL [Faded stamp] E2/M10.8.25. [Handwritten numbers] X8691 / X8690 X8680 EAC. BATTERY IGNITION. We send you herewith drawing LeC. 2121. shewing some slight modifications for excluding crankchamber gases and improving the ventilation on the battery ignition tower. We had this drawing in hand at the time of receiving your D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} scheme 255. As you will notice Mr. Royce expresses disapproval of joining all the units of the ignition gear together with sweated connections. LeC. 2121. shews 2 methods of excluding the crank-chamber gases and these should be considered as alternative to each other, and tested as such. Two windows covered with gauze are now called for in the H.T. distributor moulding, and also a ventilation hole in the floor of the distributor housing in close proximity to the L.T. contact points.
