For the attention of Mr. Lidsey. Dear Sirs, I thank you for your letter dated May 26th and note your remarks with regard to the set of Jacks which were supplied for a 40/50 h.p. Chassis giving a quicker lift, for the purpose of test. I am rather surprised that the slight speeding up of these Jacks has caused so much extra effort on the part of the operator and I am wondering whether there may be some defect in the handle gearing or the Jack screw which is causing this. I shall be glad to know if it would be possible for me to examine this set fitted to a car at Derby in the near future, to satisfy myself on this point. I would propose coming to Derby immediately after the Holidays if this will be convenient and perhaps by then you will have had an opportunity of forming an opinion on the medium weight Jacks we have sent to you for a 20/25 h.p. car. Yours faithfully, For DONALD SESSIONS & COMPANY LIMITED. Donald Sessions. Managing Director. DWS/IKS. P.S. Since writing the above, it has occurred to me that possibly the Fitters have been using the 6/1 Handle as usually supplied instead of the 9/1 geared handle which should be used with the quick lifting set. This, of course, would account for the trouble experienced. | ||
