To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} 47430 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/LG12.4.27. PHANTOM STEERING GEOMETRY. X7430 X7430 It will be seen from the attached curve of DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}'s that EAC.7. as we have it, is not appreciably better than 'V' series Phantom on bump and infinitely worse on rebound. We ourselves cannot see any object in making a 'V' series car steering bad on rebound to shew us that it will be unsatisfactory. You will recollect that you gave us a short pendulum lever and then the altered dumb iron to improve the geometry of the EAC.7. steering. We should very much like to see exactly what geometry we have got with these modifications superimposed on DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}'s sketch; then we can tell him the relative effect of bad geometry as we have two stages of improvement.
