Instructions for re-assembling a PH.III No.6 unit with a new crankshaft and bearings following an endurance run failure.

PH.III No.6 UNIT.

Following endurance run on this unit with various types of big ends, the crankshaft has been found to be scrapped where the big ends ran out.

Will you please assemble as follows:-

(1) New Crankshaft, retaining existing AC.6 main bearings if O.K. for clearance with new shaft. If not fit std. W/M main bearings.

(2) Big end bearing shells in Hall's metal, 3 in AC.6. and 3 in AC.2. These are thin section .070 made to Ex drawings and adaptable to existing standard bearing halves.

(3) Crack test connecting rods and exhaust valves.
