Please Quote. 11th October 1923. For attention of E.W.Hines,Esq., Messrs Rolls-Royce,Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Sirs, Many thanks for your letter of the 8th instant. Although running many Rolls-Royce cars myself, I certainly had no idea that you had standardised the straight side type of tyre on the 40-50 h.p. model and had actually had placed in my room here, 4 - 895 x 150 beaded edge tyres for you to test. Of course, we also make the 33 x 5 straight side, which no doubt you have now standardised on the 40-50 h.p. model in place of the 895 x 150 beaded edge, as well as all other straight side sizes of cord tyres, but at the moment, we have only altered our moulds to the new design into the beaded edge tyre and it will be some 4-5 weeks before the 32 x 4½ is ready. However, as I am exceedingly keen on your testing out Rapson tyres on your car, I have given instructions to our Order Department to despatch you the first set of tyres that come out of the new moulds and this will reach you just before the end of November. Further, I willingly agree to you running these tyres at your recommended pressures and shall be happy to receive your fortnightly report. If my suggestions please you, do not trouble to answer this letter, as I will see the tyres despatched as promised. -1- All communications to be addressed to the Company, not to individuals. | ||
