attached to one of which, for instance EFC2/T14.5.19, was sheet A of continuous high rate discharge curves and to another of which, for instance EFC3/T4.7.19, was a sheet of low rate discharge tests on recording voltmeter.

The second and third pages of table of performances give the results which have been subsequently obtained to date on various other batteries we have had for test from time to time, but time and circumstances have not permitted the reporting of these results in instalments. We now, however, present these results together with copies of the curves to which they refer.

The results for the II section for these other batteries, i.e. for continuous high rate discharges are shown on sheets B and D and carry their own explanation.

The results for the III sections, i.e. for intermittent high rate discharges, are shown on sheets C and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A little explanation of these latter is necessary.
A switch was used in the heavy current circuit (the resistance of which circuit consisted of a grid made up of a number of Eureka wires arranged in parallel between two heavy copper bars) by means of which in the (a) case the circuit was made for 15 seconds and broken for 15 seconds alternately, and in the (b) case, made for 15 seconds and broken for 45 alternately. The minutes of contact along the base line represent, not the total time elapsing, but
