Re Rattle -> Re Magneto rattle (?)
21.7.11

Rattle comes from crankshaft - made worse by use of loose springs in spring drive - not affected materially by adjustment of tappet wheel. Oil pressure has remarkable effect - no pressure brings out rattle more than any other alteration. Rattle gets worse also as engine temperature rises. Under test bed rattle comes from magneto drive but is easily removable by braking.

Tested on chassis, 1671.
last 50hp to sty.

not affected by oil on gears.
