SHEET 10. TEST NO. V.111. WOODHEADS 20% STIFFER FRONT SPRINGS - 9-PK & 98-NK CARS. TROUBLES. Servo jaggers occurred intermittently during the test. Down pipe flange broken away from front silencer. Step iron broken. Hartford shock absorber arms buckled. Steering pendulum lever loose on its splines. Engine seized up but afterwards freed itself. Main cyl. extra oil pipe broken. No.4 big end bearing failed. Windscreen broken. Glass broken. Front wing stay broken (twice). Front wings split continually. Wheel carriers broken (twice). Scuttle frame broken (twice). MILEAGE. 12,118 6,654 17,997 18,253 18,609 8,013 20,622 CAUSE OR REMEDY. Down pipe flange and manifold union not in line. No.4 big end bearing seized temporarily.
