E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} dictated the following telegram over the 'phone, which he had received from R.{Sir Henry Royce} :-

"ARRANGE CONFERENCE W.W. THURSDAY BEFORE DECIDING TREATMENT STILL BELIEVE TORSIONAL PERIODS NOT SIMPLE INERTIA TORQUE REDUCABLE BY BETTER DAMPER. WIRE SPEED OF MASTER PERIOD OF CRANKSHAFT."

We may want to borrow either Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s. car or LHS{Lord Herbert Scott}'s. car to take as a sample customer's complaint to shew R.{Sir Henry Royce} We can let you know definitely whether we want this car on Monday.
