| To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Engine Mountings. I have felt for a long time that a lot of our troubles from the point of view of loss of smoothness on our cars - (due largely to increase in HP to obtain better performance) - is due to the fact that we have not been quick enough to take advantage of what I may call flexible engine mountings, which have been adopted and used in America for/a very long time. I find that as long ago as the 1st December 1932 I wrote to you as per the attached copy. I received your reply, E1/HP2.12.32, and the matter was referred to at various Derby conferences but I have never been shown any experimental car fitted up on these lines. It is now, as you will see over 15 months since the date of my note and I should like to know what we have really done in this direction. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Enc. Copy of Sg{Arthur F.
