c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst. ------------ 6071 4th. May 1937. BY.1/C. ------------ Messrs. L. Weekes (Luton) Limited, Luton, Beds. For the attention of Mr. Dryden. Dear Sirs, With reference to your visit to these Works on Friday, the 30th April, we gather from our Experimental Department that you have not succeeded in producing a scheme by which you can produce a coil in the end of the fuse wire and keep it reasonably tight. In view of this, therefore, we are prepared to carry on with the fuses which are pressed in or dimpled on the vertical wall of the cylindrical end piece to give a sufficient area of soldering to ensure the wire having a good contact and maintaining same. * If you had passed this information on to us previously we should have accepted the position on your assurance that you could not guarantee the fuse with the coiled ends. Thanking you, however, for the work you have done in this connection. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. By TECHNICAL PRODUCTION ENGINEER. | ||
