Coverley - Production Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst.4/AP.1.5.37 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FUSES Mr.Dryden, director of Messrs Weekes who supply our fuses, visited us yesterday afternoon to discuss improvements to fuses. One thing he said was that he was definitely opposed to the scheme of curling over the end of the wire in the fuse due to the tension of the wire being released in the operation of curling, and after inspection of the drawing we are inclined to agree with him. We are strongly of the opinion that the curled wire fuse should not go into Production until we have tested and approved the same in the Laboratory. We have had so much trouble with faulty fuses of this type in the past that any modification should be carefully investigated and tested. We have no hesitation in saying that these fuses properly made and assembled are satisfactory. A report on the curled wire fuse will be issued by us as soon as possible.
