ANALYSIS OF 20% BENZOL MIXTURE.
A sample of the above, representing the fuel used on the F.10 and Condor IVa. Type Tests has been examined by A.I.D. Test House, and copy of the results obtained, is attached.
You will note that the figure for aromatics is 18% and this appears to me to be very low for a 20% mixture, the usual figure being about 29%.
It seems, therefore, that either the sample has been badly selected, or else the Benzol separates out from the petrol whilst in the tank.
This discrepancy in the results has been noticed before, and I shall be glad if it can be investigated to find out if either of the above suggestions are correct.
