Confusion sometimes arises between S. and W. in regard to suggestions which may be made concerning possible improvements in the chassis, which may be introduced at some future date.

It has been suggested by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that it would be helpful for him to know which items were considered by Sales officials to be the most serious.

The officials have now all voted on this point with the following results, which I think may interest you to look through, as possibly you may consider it desirable that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} should be guided in his experiments and tests to a certain extent by this information, which is of course based on the Sales officials' experience in dealing with customers:

1. Phantom Suspension. [Handwritten] Nothing
2. Explosions in the Phantom Silencer, and desirability of more positive throttle control by the governor. [Handwritten] In hand
3. Further improvements in steering, including rattle of the controls in steering column - Phantom. [Handwritten] Rattle Standardised & other improvements[...]
4. Water boiling indicator - Phantom and 20 H.P. [Handwritten] Standardised
5. Burning up of platinum points battery ignition; desirability of some form of battery charge indicator.
6. Phantom clutch, both as regards stopping and jagger. [Handwritten] New Spring back plate
7. Tappet knocks and general engine noises when idling. [Handwritten] Nothing
8. Brake squeaks - 20 h.p. and Phantom. [Handwritten] Nothing
9. Improved accessibility for chassis lubrication, working towards the 'Bijur' system. [Handwritten] Nothing
10. Failure of petrol supply, filters or jet choking. [Handwritten] New style tank
11. Overheating - inside body of Phantom - back and front. [Handwritten] Asbestos
12. Oil leaks from car when standing. [Handwritten] Nothing
