1349. SECRET. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Ey. PUBLICITY - PAULIN B.II. The Paulin car belonging to Embiricos arrived at the Works on Tuesday night. The necessary modifications are in hand to prepare it for the proposed run on Brooklands. At Eyston's request we have fitted Hartford Shock Absorbers as the surface at Brooklands is not in very good condition. We are proposing to do the officially timed hour's run on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, July 18th or 19th, according to weather conditions. We do not recommend that we do two runs of a long duration as we did at Montlhery, but that the one run made is officially timed. If we are satisfied with the results obtained, we suggest that in order to obtain the maximum amount of publicity, a number of the Press should be invited down to the track the day after the official run has been completed, and they should be shown the car lapping at the speeds in question, though, of course, there will be no necessity to indulge in continuous high speed work. Presumably a Lunch would be arranged for them afterwards. Possibly, if Wakefields are going to get some publicity from the run they would like to come in on this part of the job.
