With reference to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M22.7.30.

Undoubtedly the wheels being moved further out from centre point improves the steering. However, we have not standardised this because it increases the car track and it is hardly feasible to do this on the standard car. We understand it is already too wide on the track to go into countries such as Sweden etc.
