Dear Sirs,

We would confirm the visit the writer paid to you this week in connection with the supply of a Marles Steering Gear for test on a car of your manufacture.

In accordance with the arrangements come to at that visit, we are enclosing herewith our drawing MGA.{M. G. Aspley}20100 shewing our proposals, and we are pleased to say that we find we have a malleable casting of the box and also of the rockershaft sufficiently long to make the Steering as shewn, so that in this respect delivery need not be extended.

In the drawing mentioned above we have shewn a flange braised on to the nose of the gear as discussed between us, but we find that it is necessary to increase the pitch circle diameter to 3.1/16" so as to clear the steering box nose.

We also shew the bolts passing through this flange inserted the opposite way to your standard practice, the reason for which we think will be quite clear to you from the drawing.

We have also shewn your outer tube mounted on the outside diameter of the top of our box, and we should be glad if you could kindly supply us with the dimension called "B" on the drawing.

We have also shewn the actual limit on our inner tube, and it would appear that your inner tube carrying the wheel etc. will fit nicely on to this standard diameter of inner tube.
