TO C.H. FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M11.12.26. Copy to - HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X8774 X8830 re. EXPERIMENTAL PHANTOM 10-EX. We have left this car at Barkers to have modifications made to its coachwork, and have discussed and instructed the work in detail with them. An outline of the modifications required is given below - (1) Alteration to rear of body to house spare wheel. (2) New detachable hood and envelope cover. (3) Tonneau cover. (4) New set of wings. (5) Four separate step-irons. (6) New Vee type double piece screen. (7) Lower front seat 4", and rear seat 2", and fit pneumatic upholstery. (8) Fit up spare wheel inside body at rear, and make locker for tools. (9) Fit two screen wipers supplied by R-R.{Sir Henry Royce} (10) Fit Zeiss headlamps (fixed) supplied by R-R.{Sir Henry Royce} These modifications have been demanded by our experience with the car during the past 18 months. As HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is in urgent need of this car, early in the New Year, and is pressing us to carry out the work, we would be glad if you would arrange for Barkers to have an official order. We presume that the work will cost somewhere in the neighbourhood of £300., and we consider that it is preferable to go on improving this car rather than build a new body, both in matter of cost and time.
