TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M11.12.26. 10-EX. 19724 48460 As previously mentioned we wish you to immediately modify the chassis at Barkers by fitting the new pendulum lever cover, removing the stepirons and rear wheel carrier, also by fitting petrol tank with a large filler, if it is not already done: we believe it is. As the body overhangs the tank we have had to make the tank filter and two level device accessible by removing the spare wheel and taking up the floor. We therefore think that the two level device will virtually not be used. In view of the difficulty of access of the petrol tank fittings we suggest that a distant reading petrol gauge be fitted on the instrument board; such a gauge is very common on the continent, where the 'Nivex' is largely used, but perhaps you knowof a better article. We suggest that when you have the car at Derby you fit such a gauge. We are arranging to fit a screen for the rear seats, which, when not in use, will be folded down underneath the tonneau cover.
