"W" Hdy{William Hardy}5/V.1.6.31 RECEIVED 16 JUN 1931 re French Anti-dazzle Regulations. Referring to my memo Hdy{William Hardy}1/PH/2.4.31, I am pleased to advise you that the French Authorities have now approved of our standard type RB.{R. Bowen}160 Headlamp, as fitted to the 20/25 H.P. model, when it has a special double filament bulb and fluted glass. Messrs. Lucas have advised us to the effect that the lamp complying with the approved specification will be known as Lucas RB.{R. Bowen}F.160.EF. This means we are now in a position to supply approved Headlamps for both 40/50 H.P. and 20/25 H.P. cars and for your information the extra cost over our standard Headlamps will be 10/- per pair, retail. As regards P.100, P.100 DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}, P.80, P.80 DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} and Centre lamps, these have been definitely turned down by the French Authorities but we are, of course, in touch with Messrs. Lucas as regards their producing the highpowered Lamp with Anti-dazzle device to meet the demand for this type of lamp from Continental customers. Hdy.{William Hardy} | ||
