1181? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}10/MH.{M. Huckerby} 6th.January 1938. Messrs. Hubert H.P.Trist & Co., Top Dog Works, Brislington, Bristol. For the attention of Mr.Draper. Dear Sirs, As we promised Mr.Draper, we are sending 4 prints GB.750, 751, 752 and 754, which are the brake lining pieces required for a 4 1/4 litre Bentley. 4 pieces of each are required per car, and in the case of single sets we require one spare of each, because of drilling errors. We have already sent drawings GW.371 and 685, of which we require 4 pieces per car. These linings are for a second type of chassis which also gives us trouble with squeaks, and on which we could do useful testing. The Bentley has its linings in 2 pieces per shoe, this being due to an anti-squeak scheme which is partially effective. In addition to any sets of linings supplied, we require one extra piece for rig tests. The test pieces can be cut out of the piece GB.751, or any larger piece. We now realize that if our shoes were wider we should have less brake squeaks, but then, of course, we should not be requiring your services. | ||
