1282. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 12/R. 11th March, 1939. Sir A. {Mr Adams} Duckham, Duckham House, 16, Cannon Street, LONDON. E.C.4. Dear Sir Alexander, Thank you for your letter of the 9th March. Though a certain amount of running has been carried out on adcoids, I fear it is quite impossible for us to give a figure as to their merit. There is no doubt that on cars which have been run on adcoids, cylinder bore wear has been low, but, on the other hand, we have had similar figures on cars which have been run on straight petrol. I am sorry not to be more helpful, but you will appreciate our problem on such a complicated and involved subject as cylinder bore wear. We find it quite impossible to keep pace with all the normal brands of oil which are being produced. Yours sincerely, | ||
