X.9620 - E.A.C. STARTER MOTOR.

With reference to your By/RD2/ML5.12.23, we do not think in view of Mr. Royce's note R3/M30.11.23 that any work should be done on cast iron pole pieces for the E.A.C. motor.

We think it would be better to go directly if or as soon as possible to the use of high permeability semi-steel castings.

If this is not immediately possible, we think we should make the first few experimental machines with mild steel pieces.
