Luber-finer Starts Where Filters Stop Read What these Enthusiastic Owners* Say: ...on my Reo Flying Cloud. I have driven the car approximately 4000 miles since the unit was installed, and as far as I can discern, as good as new oil... The oil was inspected and to our expectation was found to be in perfect condition... ...driving a Buick which is 8 months old....I have forgotten about the valve grind, and can't help but notice the smooth, even way in which my motor is running now. It is performing practically the same as the day it came off the sales floor, and in view of the fact that no other mechanical correction has been made and I am using the same kind of oil, I cannot help but give credit to Luber-finer, since it is the only change or addition to the motor that has been made. ...some time ago we installed a Luber-finer on our 1935 Graham Sedan which had run 28,000 miles up until the time the installation was made. Since that time the car has run an additional 10,000 miles and entirely without a change of oil. In talking about these units, they informed me that from the standpoint of both the Diesel and automotive engine your units are quite outstanding.... We find that even though these units have received very severe service, that so far they have not been impaired in the least.... They have certainly done a fine job.... saved many times their cost. ...I have driven the car 8,700 miles, most of this distance at very high speed, over dirt roads... Since then I have driven the car an additional part of this distance over dirt roads... and have not changed the oil in the crankcase nor changed the pack in the Luber-finer. The oil in the crankcase looks like brand new oil and apparently has the same lubricating qualities as when it was first put into the crankcase. *These are unsolicited testimonials. (Embedded Letter 1) CITY OF SAN BUENAVENTURA VENTURA, COUNTY, CALIFORNIA JUNE 24, 1936 Luber-finer, Incorporated 1016 South Hope Street Los Angeles, California Gentlemen: Luber-finers have been installed on our City equipment first last March, 1936. At the present time there are twelve Luber-finers giving complete satisfaction and have earned the praise of every driver. We have had two cars run over 10,000 miles without drain or refill of crankcase oil, one car having run 20,000 miles on second refill since Luber-finer installation. We have two Chevrolet 1936 police cars, one an Olds 1936 car, both of which average 50 miles per day, or about 15,000 miles per year. Both cars have covered between 4,000 and 5,000 miles since the installation of the Luber-finers, and have not yet had their oil changed. We are expecting a large saving on these cars alone. The approximate mileage on cars and trucks at present is 46,000 miles, which we have added to our equipment since January, 1935. Both cars and trucks average about 21 miles per gallon of gas and their oil consumption of c.a.e. 200 m.p.g. The total normal oil consumption is therefore c.a.e. 230 gallons at $0.35 per gallon, or $80.50. We expect to save one-half of this amount, or $40.25, and that the crankcases will be kept as clean as could be desired. The original installation made on a 1935 V-8 Ford has run 20,000 miles on two fills of oil, and has not yet been cleaned. The crankcase is now as clean as can be expected from a car which has run 20,000 miles on police duty, and is offered as severe service. This car averages about 200 miles per day. I believe this test has proven the Luber-finer to be all that is claimed of it by your local representatives, and on this test we are now equipping our entire automotive equipment with Luber-finers. The first two were given a six day test and through the untiring efforts of your salesman, Mr. Harris, proved to our satisfaction the remarkable results of their installation. At the same time, we installed two on our gasoline equipment, both of the same type of ours. In reviewing your salesmen's comments contacting us in regard to your equipment, and the facts, we have since had Luber-finer installed on all of our equipment. Both the Diesel and gasoline units were given a severe field test, and at all times the oil in the crankcase looked like new old oil with the old oil packs. In other words, with the installation of your product your money saved definite servicing for oil changing. For all tests, at all times, the oil in the crankcase, and paper sample, looked like new oil, as well as the Luber-finer oil packs. As the result of our tests, and through the use and wear of the equipment, we now believe, and are convinced, that your product should be on all equipment from the standpoint of economy and dependability for the operation of the engine. Cleaned filter, used before Luber-finer installation, every 40 hours. Up to present time have used Luber-finer 1200 hours without oil change. A Caterpillar operator states: Used to change oil every 50 hours. With Luber-finer have driven 500 hours and haven't changed yet. A 1935 Ford V-8 owner declares: Oil is now in excellent condition after 1590 hours of driving without a change of oil. Experience with filters proved a change after every 50 hours was necessary. A 1936 Dodge 3/4-ton truck owner says: 11,500 miles on truck, and the oil is still in perfect condition without oil change. Motor runs quieter and considerably cooler.
