Radiator Mounting etc.

The bottom of the yoke has collapsed as shown in fig. I.

The corner stays have been welded and a flanged stiffening piece made to fit over the flat section in the middle and welded in position.

We are building it up with the new rubber fitted transversely as instructed and will try it with and without the diagonal stays. We shall only try AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}'s strip for side-ways location if we are still troubled with sideshake at the bottom.

We noted that the shutter frame also shakes sideways at the bottom relative to the yoke and have fitted a stay to stop this. Our general impression is that the whole radiator job is a mock-up and requires Design attention.

We found when dismantling, that the centre portion of the pan is badly distorted and assume that this is done by jacking up as intimated in your memo. A proper jacking pad is obviously required.

Regarding the centralisation of the top yoke bearings, unless something has taken a permanent set, these must always have been right forward due to either errors in
