KM. with Pole Modification I think it necessary to clear up a misunderstanding that appears to exist with regard to this machine, and I give our experience of it. When the pole modification was carried out on this machine, it was handed straight to EFC by ourselves before being tried on a chassis, and although the report EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}06/T8.3.27 condemned the machine, partly from output, and partly because it was considered that the machine was still noisy, when it was returned to us, we tried it on two chassis, and considered it quite passable for noise. I confirm the statement made in the second paragraph of memo By6/H25.3.27 that the single modification invariably gives us satisfaction from a noise point of view.
