X.2515. RE FUSE WIRE FOR LUCAS DYNAMO SWITCHBOARD. We find we have been using fuse wire for the above which is not adequate for the work which it has to do, and besides failures on test we have also received complaints on cars delivered that the wire too readily fuses. An investigation has been made on this matter by Mr. Clark, and a report made out by him, ref. EFC1/T3.8.20, copy of which has been sent to you. It certainly appears from this report that the fuse wire we are supplying is not satisfactory. Could you please therefore arrange that we are supplied with a large quantity of wire so that we can make sure no further chassis are delivered unless the fuse wire is satisfactory, also that we can supply to our Depots sufficient fuse wire for them to replace the existing fuse wire when convenient, which should be done on all cars retrospectively. Please let me know what you propose to do about this matter so that I can take action accordingly. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
