J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Howlett, Esq.,
Wellworthy Piston Rings Ltd.,
LYMINGTON,
Hants:

Dear Howlett,

[Signature]

Many thanks for your letter of the 12th April.

I am not an expert on Patent wording myself, and, apparently, from what Blackith says, we have not done very well on our 'Provisional'.

Under the circumstances, I will come over and meet Mr. Hardman Brown on Tuesday next, the 18th instant, at 11.0.a.m.

I never thought that we should be able to get a patent on this piston to cover Diesel engines, and, of course, we have no idea whether it would do the slightest good on a Diesel.

Yours sincerely,
