We have carried out another test on an old 40/50 HP. car in which we were sure the 1st. and 2nd. and reverse had gears of 14 1/2° obliquity instead of 20° which we are using with the ground gears.
Both the 1st. and 2nd. speeds on this old car worked out badly, in fact, it was impossible to hold them in by hand.
