Huckerby}7.11.38, as explained on the 'phone to Mr. Roberts today, we have no data at 'N' which would be of help to you on the question of big end bearings. To date, whenever we have had a Phantom lll, the engine of which had obviously got to be completely stripped, the car has been sent to Derby, therefore of course, the information which you require is naturally in Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}'s. hands. We did strip 3-AZ-234 (Lord Milton) a fortnight ago, but this was for an obvious case of over-revving of the engine on gears and all the bearings and pistons were removed and sent to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} We will keep the matter before us for when we do have to strip a Phantom lll, and will in due course report to you, but probably you will in the meantime be able to make your decision on the information received from Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} | ||
