Bailey - Chief Engineer} E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP.3.4.36. Bentley Floorboards. With reference to the results of work which has been done recently on noise insulation of dashboards and floorboards, the latest information is that the use of rubber mats is not good, the rubber having the effect of reflecting and not absorbing noises. It has been stated that a felt mat rubberised on one side gives better results than a rubber mat. In view of this one wonders if we are doing the right thing by continuing to use rubberised floorboards on the Bentley chassis. The cost of this item is considerable - 15/6d per chassis, and it would appear well worth while to investigate the possibilities of deleting it. Rubberised floorboards are also instructed for the Phantom III chassis. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
