Rubberised Floorboards. Re. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HF.{H. W. Frost - Coachwork Inspector}3.4.36. The question has been raised as to whether we should continue to use rubberised floorboards on the Bentley and Ph.III chassis. The points in favour of the rubberised boards are (a) Appearance. (b) The rubber is used to form a gas tight joint. (c) Non slipping surface for the proposed felt mat and carpet. (d) To provide a damping effect to the metal surface of the boards. The fact that we have previously stated that a felt mat rubberised on one side gives better results than a rubber mat has no bearing on the floorboards in question. This rubberised felt mat replaces the heavy expensive sorbo mat supplied by all coachbuilders. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.Dodd. | ||
