Mounting and Drive of the 100 w type Scintilla Dynamo.

Owing to the high power, furnished at about 550 r.p.m. it is possible to drive the dynamo in tandem with the magneto, that is for 4 cylinders at engine speed, and for 6 cylinders at 1.5 times engine speed.

When the dynamo is to be provided with a separate drive it is better to choose a ratio of about 1 : 1.25 (Town carriage for instance).

The separate drive can be with pinions (helical, straight or at an angle), by silent chain or by roller chain, or finally by belt in trapezoid.

In this last case the S-A Scintilla assumes special qualities, ensuring an irreproachable operation.
