Deterioration of Grey and Blue Hides.

Thank you for your memo' reference FS.{F. Steele}GM.21 2.9.57 regarding the above.

Since the memo' from JS.{Mr Johnson's Secretary} on this subject Gnr. and myself visited the suppliers and had discussions with Mr.Fred Connolly. I think that it is generally agreed that the dyes and process used on the coloured hides, which are the subject of the complaint, are not entirely satisfactory, and there is a move to improve the process. I believe that a typical specimen was to be found on Dor.{Mr Dorey}'s own car, but Gnr. can give more up-to-date information in this respect.

I have agreed to put before Connollys any bad specimens that appear, but I think it is true to say that they are quite conversant with the problem and its cause.
