1256 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}13/ET. 24th October, 1940. The Light Production Co., 60/66, Rochester Row, Westminster, S.W. 1. Dear Mr. Brooks, We are sending under separate cover two 3.250" bore pistons. The one produced by you, and the other taken from one of our cars. We would like these back some time. It was intended that the latest split pistons made by you should weigh the same as the old one. We realise that there is still a small amount to come off the outside for grinding, but even then the section would be too thick. We would appreciate your further cooperation in this matter, and await your comments. Enclosed is a drawing PL.348, showing a 2.50 piston. Will you please look this over and let us have your comments; we are anxious to produce production detail drawings to include gudgeon pin and rings and feel you may already have something on the shelf which you would recommend. Will you therefore supply a sample with rings and pin, with detail drawings. Also a print of the piston you supply, to compare with our own project. Things are comparatively quiet here, and have been for the past three months. Hoping you and yours are still in one piece, Yours sincerely, | ||
