ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/JT. from EFC. Y7791 EFC2/LG25. 2. 29. WATFORD EW6. MAGNETO NO.100081. Re. your ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/JT3/H22. 2. 29. We are inclined not to agree with Messrs. North as to the cause of the trouble. Before allowing them to incorporate some method of ventilation we would prefer to wait and see if a similar effect takes place on another Watford EW6. magneto now on the same car. Our own opinion is that the "ample evidence of combustion" in the contact breaker housing is due to black deposit from the burning contact points as a result possibly of an incorrect contact breaker spring or possibly a bad condenser connection.
