X3806 To Sft.{Mr Swift} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Chassis Lubrication Meter Valves. With reference to the trouble you have experienced with the above, where the first threads of the valves have been stripped when tightening up into the junction body. We have tried out and found satisfactory a slightly modified type whereby a chamfer replaces the first one or two threads and is able to make an oil-tight joint on the cone shaped base of the junction body. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} suggests that before standardising this modification we equip a few chassis to see if they prove satisfactory generally. We are therefore asking Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} to order 4 gross for this purpose. Ha/J.Bowering. | ||
