Springing Complaint 39-RY (Mr. Colin Kingham).

From Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}15/KW.23.5.34. it appears that low rating springs with controllable dampers are unsuitable for the owner who drives himself on the Continent.

We should recommend that before fitting normal rating springs all round to this car, the owner should have his car with normal rating rear springs and low rating front springs. This we consider should be far more satisfactory as the normal rating rear springs increase the controllability and reduce rolling, but the low rating front springs prevent the pitching which is evident with a car sprung throughout with normal rating springs.

We should be interested to hear if normal rating rear springs with low rating front springs satisfy this owner, as we consider this a more satisfactory arrangement for production than normal rating springs throughout.

For cases of steering road shock complaints it may be necessary to fit normal rating springs all round and sacrifice some of the riding qualities.
