W/S. C. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 300a Rml3/R.2.7.37. PRICE'S OIL - C8/C26.6.37. 32-EX at present running 15,000 miles has the hydraulic tappets deleted. It is also fitted with the over-drive gearbox. In order to get a value for the over-drive gearbox relative to its effect on bearings, it was necessary that we should run on Wakefield's oil. As the only objection to Price's oil, however, was its effect on the filter for the hydraulic tappets, if the test is successfully completed, it will permit us to remove the ban on this lubricant.
