Dunlop Rubber Co. Ltd.
Straight Side Tyres.
We have received a circular letter from the Dunlop Co's Works at Aston Cross, Birmingham, dated 1st inst. as follows:-
"We are now very nearly ready to start producing "Dunlop Straight Side Tyres 33 x 5" - which is the "size you propose adopting - and are anxious to know "when you will be ready to start taking deliveries "and what your approximate weekly requirements will be.
"On the question of tread pattern - we understand "you have expressed an opinion that with the latest "experimental set you have been testing you have "detected some noise in the running, which you attri-"bute to the particular pattern, and we wish to assure "you that it is our intention to make such modification "as may be necessary that will entirely eliminate this "objection.
"The writer (Sales Manager) would like to call and "see you on Friday afternoon next for the purpose of "discussing the question of supplies, and shall be glad "to hear if this day will be quite convenient to you."
I have requested the Dunlop Co's Sales Manager to postpone his visit and have at the same time pointed out that tyres are usually ordered by you (C/Sales) from our London office.
There is, of course, the question of noisiness to be settled before any action with regard to purchase can be taken.
Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}
