Dept: TELEPHONE AVENUE 7854 (2 LINES.) TELEGRAMS, "DICOTTO, FEN, LONDON" August 31st, 1918. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Experimental Dept: Nightingale Rd. D E R B Y. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Hives. We have to thank you for the courteous interview accorded to the Writer and note with satisfaction the results obtained from our Ilo L.S.P. Aero Oil. With regard to the three barrels ordered by you Order No.C.D.906, we are embodying an oil which will give a lower setting point. As suggested by the Writer and agreed to by you, we are also adding an extra 5% of fat oil. Also as Mr. Hives states the temperature is so great on the piston heads as to practically nullify all chance of carbonisation, the properties of the fatty oil which we are embodying, will have the result of producing oxygen, which will absolutely prevent any gumming of the rings.
