Contd. -2- EH2/LG28.8.18. Power Test on Falcon. Oil temperature. HP. REVS. S.L.P. Castrol. 1600 222.4 220.9 1800 255.2 254.4 The increase in power 2000 279.1 277.3 would be due to the 2200 291.0 286.3 lower Visc: of S.L.P oil. With Gas engine, which has a longer viscosity than S.L.P. the engine gives more still. Consumption. In a 5 hour test on an Eagle the consumption was 7 pts. per hour or .021 lbs. per HP hour. Endurance Test. An Eagle engine was overhauled and examined then run 64 hours on this oil. It was the engine which ran the crankshaft test. The examination after this test shewed that there was no appreciable amount of wear on any parts. The piston rings were all free in the grooves. The amount of carbon was normal. EH. | ||
